Canadian-Made Plant-Based Meat

Is Gardein Canadian? 4 Plant-Based Meat Brands That Are 🇨🇦

Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods are American-owned, and so is Gardein — which started in Richmond, BC before Conagra bought it. These four plant-based meat brands are still Canadian-owned: Big Mountain Foods (Delta, BC, mother-and-daughter owned since 1987), Gusta (Quebec-owned, made in Montreal), Noble Jerky (the Urbani family's 50-year-old salami business, now 100% plant-based) and Save Da Sea (founder-owned in Victoria, BC). Note: Yves Veggie Cuisine is Canadian-owned again — Maple Leaf Foods brought the brand back in 2026 after Hain Celestial discontinued it.
